Hello,

So I recently repotted my Cape Sundew and some of it's offshoots from the main plant in some of the soil I got from Matt and Leah, though I added a bit more perlite as it seems there wasn't much if any in the bag I got.

The two little plants seem to not be doing too hot, and I'm not entirely sure why.

The big plant seems okay, just a little odd. It might be hard to tell from the images, but some of the newer leaves aren't producing dew and are a little smaller than previous growths. I found that this plant is very finicky with the amount of light it wants when inside: the grow lights can't be too close but not too far away. Both have water in their dishes and I make sure to keep it filled if it starts to get towards empty.

The only thing I can think of is that I tried deionized water, as there's a fill-up station at a grocery store nearby that I can reuse the gallon jugs I have, as opposed to just throwing them in the recycling. I made sure it's free of minerals, but I wonder if with this potting mixture if there's a faster build up of minerals, due to deionized water being easily re-ionized when coming in contact with any minerals (at least, I think that's how it works). Maybe that's just me overthinking.

I'll have another post with some of the VFTs that also seem to be acting weird but I don't know if it's the water or if I should repot them, even though I haven't had them for very long and they've just started to wake up from dormancy.

Many sundews, Capes included, get moody when transported, transplanted, handled, sternly talked to, breathed on wrong, or looked at funny. You say you recently repotted them, so they're going to pout (some more than others) for about a month give or take.
Be patient, as long as they don't dry out, they should come around.

Alright. It looks like the little clones are still red from stress and haven't started any new growths, but I'll give it time.
