Hi,
I'm extremely new to carnivorous plants and got a sarracenia out of pity(bc the rest of the stock was dead). While researching I found out that they need to go through dormancy. I have mine in a small pot though and I love in Ohio. The temp is starting to drop and I'm a little scared to put my sarracenia outside like all the care guides say. Is there a way I can start dormancy inside my house?
Thanks!

The best place for it is outside in as much sunshine as it can get. It will go dormant on its own. If you are concerned about freezing temps, depending on the species, (looks to have some purpurea in it, but I am not certain) most can handle a freeze or two and purps are found all the way up the east coast and to MI, IIRC. If you have a garage or cool dark place you can place it that would work for dormancy. If that is not an option, refrigerator dormancy is another way to go. There are some users here from your neck of the woods that will most likely chime in and give better advice than I can give. Just my thoughts based on what I have learned on this forum.

I use the garage for my Sarrs when temps drop. I wait for the pitchers to get mostly brown and dry, then trim them off near the rhizomes. I have a couple of purp hybrids, the kind that grow a thick group of small pitchers, I usually wait until February to trim them off, divide, and repot.
