Hey all,

I started growing VFT seeds from some kit I got at a tractor supply store, and they actually turned out to be VFT seeds, and viable!

Three of them sprouted, and two of them look really good so far. However, one of them looks a bit rough and is "loose" in the peat moss, compared to the others that feel really anchored in.

Not sure if its rotting or something, but it just looks really rough compared to the others. Not sure if I overwatered them or something? I bottom water them with a tray, but sometimes when I'm refilling the tray the spout of my watering can waters the top a bit.

Growing conditions are potted in a 50/50 mix of peat moss and perlite, reverse osmosis water, and 9 inches under a YESCOM225 growlight panel. Bottom watered. 78 degrees.

Rough looking one:

I see what you're talking about, but the seedling also doesn't appear to necessarily be dying. Maybe back the moisture off a little bit to avoid any sort of crown rot? The others are doing fine, so I think you're doing all you can do.

Not all seeds will sprout, and not all sprouts will become teenagers, etc.

It can help to make sure no peat/material is wedged into the central growing point. If that's the case with that VFT, you can flick off any peat with a toothpick.
