I don’t understand why the hoods are turning brown and my other pitcher plant doesn’t seem to be growing

I purchased them in June, I was gonna repot them but then I read I should wait til after summer. Not sure what kinda Of media to use. There’s new growth in middle but they haven’t grown anymore for the last month.

Were they potted or bare-root? Bare-root plants don't grow much in the first season that you have them. They don't appreciate root disturbance during the growing season and like to make that fact abundantly clear.

Also, different species have different peak growing periods. Sarracenia flava is a spring and early summer producer. Sarracenia leucophylla is a late summer and early fall producer. Sarracenia purpurea tends to grow all summer long, while Sarracenia rosea kicks into high gear during the height of summer (at least, they do at my location). If the plant is a simple hybrid, it may have the growing period of the dominant parent, or it may have a combination of the two. If it's a complex hybrid, then there's no telling when it will produce the most pitchers.

You should wait until late winter, when the plants are dormant.
