Update
It was difficult to grow sundews in fully inorganic medium because there were different kinds of nutrient deficiencies developing. I potted most of my sundews in peat. Mexican butterworts and flytraps still grow in water but a have replaced sand with basalt gravel. It is black so it looks better and it is much more algae resistant than sand.

To avoid nutrient deficiencies I water my plants with diluted Hoagland solution containing all essential elements except for nitrogen and phosphorus. Lack of nitrogen and phosphorus in water helps to restrict algae growth. To supplement these elements to plants I use foliar fertilization with diammonium phosphate (with concentration calculated as 100 mg of P per liter).

Flytraps did not have cold dormancy during 2022/2023 winter, they just had shorter daylength.

I may add more photos or information if You are interested in the experiment.

Would love to see the images but I don't have the time to wait at let all the large images load. The number and size of the images are too much for my slow connection.
