Hello, I'm new to forum and wondering if anyone has advice on packing/transporting a huge collection of CP's? It would be 2 to 3 day drive from their greenhouse in Pacific Northwest to new greenhouse in desert Southwest. Species include flytraps, sundew, butterwort, bladderwort, nepenthes, sarracenia, byblis, cobra lily, dewy pine, basically everything except heliamphora. I know to research state plant regulations for along the route, but I'm not sure how to pack and keep healthy so many different species from different climates? Sincere thanks for any suggestions.

a word of advice, the use of CP for the abbreviation for carnivorous plants is frowned upon because, unfortunately, some sick people use it for child p0rn which will certainly get posts banned on other social media platforms. So, best if you spell it out.

To answer your question, if a plant can survive a few days in a box when purchased, I am not sure why you couldn't just pack some up in a box and then load them carefully into your car.
Depending on the weather in route, you may need heat packs, or to take them out of the car when you stop at a hotel

"CP" stands for many, many things, and for many, many years. I'm against any type of human trafficking and/or pornography. Anyone who harms a child in any way has my lowest regards that I have for another human. In the environment of a CARNIVOROUS PLANT forum people will know what the meaning of the acronym "CP" is, though.

I've seen "CP" being used as an acronym for "Child Porn" in mostly legal/law forums and websites. It seems it would also likely be used in forums that child sex offenders frequent, but I have no personal knowledge of that.

In innocent, everyday forums CP is used as an acronym for things ranging from "cerebral palsy" to "communist party" to "candlepower". CP has been used across many different areas of interest...health, computer, social, business, etc.,. In the setting of a forum such as the one we are talking in, I see nothing wrong with using the acronym "CP" for "carnivorous plant".

Speech should be understood in context to the environment that it is used in. "CP" is a very handy acronym for use in a flytrap/carnivorous plant forum...it surely saves several keystrokes.

Just to add... I agree with Supercazzola that boxing up the plants would probably work pretty good. Maybe smaller boxes inside larger boxes to keep them from becoming a jumbled heap. Best wishes on the move!
