This is a pic of my D. Capensis "Red" and one of it's leaves split into two. So I'm wondering if someone has experienced this before?

Yes, lots of times on many different Capes.
Sometimes it happens anywhere on the "stem" part, mostly it's seen on the paddle.
In reality, it probably happens much more than is realized, but it's noticed on the paddle more.
