Nep leaf’s waxy film?

I’ve been noticing a waxy film on my nep leaves recently. It doesn’t seem to be dust. It feels like a waxy film almost. Any ideas?

The wax covers the pores in the leafs to prevent water loss in low humidity. The waxy ones make great house plants.
