I occassionally see nep collectors use net pots. What are the pros and cons of net pots compared to pots with just regular bottom drainage?

More aeration is true. The con is that the media dries out more quickly than if it were not a net pot. That being said, I still use them. I like 5 or 6 inch net pots hanging in 8 inch pots. Gives me a bit of the best of both worlds.

Super, if I understand you right, you put the net pot inside another pot? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the net pot?

No, because there is air between the two due to size difference.

The hanging pots due have drain holes.
