Are some variants of D Capensis harder to care for? Things like the red form or bainskloof and others. Can capensis live in 40% humidity and dim lights?

All varieties of Drosera capensis need very high light levels to thrive.
40% humidity should be fine.
One thing about D. capensis is that they tend to throw Hissy Fits from time to time.
If your growing conditions are good, they'll come back fine.
Light, water, media, and patience are all that's needed.

Good growing,

^^^^What he said.
My Capes tend to go downhill in the wintertime as a sunny windowsill isn't a good substitute for direct sunlight. They actually go into a sort of dormancy, but usually come back in the spring when I can toss them out in the sun.
