As Christmasy as my plants are going to get for this contest. Red Microdent grown from Flower Stem while submerged only in water.

Stanley managed to beat me. I had this idea last year after that extravaganza ended. Perhaps I should have started making the props over the summer? Instead, I didn't get around to it until this year's contest started -- and it took me a lot longer than I had anticipated to make my characters. (Just not dexterous as I'd like to be to hand fashion such lil things well.) My sense of humor (and Stanley's, apparently) appear to be in keeping with the brilliant works of Gary Larson. Well without further adieu..........

Oh, and for any who might be curious, the plants are Byblis liniflora.

Just a "bump". Really surprised this contest is going so slowly this year. Come on, folks! There have been some really neat and humorous entries in the past. Show us what ya got!

 I was gonna do the exact same thing and use THE EXACT same words. (When I say "the exact same words" I really do mean the exact same words, word for word, letter for letter.) Is there a hidden microphone in my room? :?

The only thing that wasn't gonna be exact was that I was gonna use a sarracenia.

This is the first purpurea that I bought many years ago. It has a special tie-in to Christmas other than its bright red winter colors. I got this plant on a trip to North Carolina and bought it at a Christmas store in Calabash. I now refer to it as my venosa "Calabash Christmas". Based on its size, it is hard to believe I just divided it this spring!

ok Lady Luck is all dressed up for Christmas! She was envious of how pretty our Christmas tree is and wanted to look just as pretty so I dressed her all up. She's even ready for a snowball fight too!

I have to apologize. We're almost two weeks into our contest and this is the first chance I've gotten to post an update. Between getting ready for Christmas and moving in under a month, it has been rather hectic. So here are our standings:
-Stanley- 5
slicric78 5
DragonsEye 5
Camden M 4
Stratofortress 4
Panman 3
Blackfeather666 2
Sundews69 2
Garden_Nymph 2

Several people have commented about how slow participation has been, especially when there are so many great prizes up for grabs!

So share your photos! Don't have any creative ideas? That's okay because the last prize will be a random drawing!

And don't forget to vote for your favorites!

I was thinking about doing the same thing as soon as I knew about this "Extravaganza," except the I didn't have a pitcher plant (but I do now). So I'll still enter but with something a little different.
