Wondering if anyone who grows pings has had an episode like this and what happened to the plants ... about a month ago I started seeing some odd leaf growth, which started as pale or discolored (reddish) veining, and sometimes twists the leaf (or might be making it a bit rigid)? I've now found about a dozen pots, all young plants, and in different trays.

These have been growing outside, so it could be some sort of insect/pathogen. I've looked at brown heart disease pics, and this doesn't seem to match. The center seems fine to start with, but I have had a few succumb.

I've grown many (many) pings for almost 6 years now, and this is a first for me. Curious if others have already had this experience. So far I'm isolating the plants and trying to determine if the bigger ones will pull themselves through...

Hi Jeff - growing conditions are the same as they have ever been during the summer season (outdoors north patio, indirect bright light, tray watering, substrate = 100% turface (calcined clay, no amendments))

Have you seen this sort of leaf death from the veins outwards before?

It is definitely most progressed on the cyclosecta hybrid, but you can see the broadening pale or pink central veining on all the plants - some more advanced than others. And pics 3,4,6, 7 show how the leaf gets malformed. Typically my pings grow pretty flat. On these plants the leaves are starting to curl or be warped which seems associated with the discolored (maybe more rigid) veins.

I'm still keeping these plants separate from my main collection and will see if any of them pull through.
