For all of you who use yescom lights, how high do you keep the lights above your plants? I was just wondering if mine are too low and too intense for some of my plants.

It depends on how much light you want to give your plants, how bright your lights are, and how much area you'd like to cover.

I recommend getting a PPFD/DLI app for your phone. I've found that once calibrated, they're fairly accurate.

I don't know enough about the apps available to give you a good answer on that but the one that I use on my Samsung Galaxy S7 is called "PPFD Meter".

This app allows you to specify the type of source lighting. I use "Purple + White 3500K" for my Mars Hydro TS1000 and based on the PPFD maps from the manufacturer, it's fairly accurate.

I would imagine the other apps operate in a similar way. The important thing would be to sanity check against your lights ppfd maps to verify that you've got the settings dialed in correctly.

Hope that helps!

I also use that app. While I don't know how accurate it is, I used it to compare two different light set ups to determine if the new one would be equal to the old one. If you have an existing set up that is working, you can use it to, in a sense, calibrate the scores.
