Hi guys hope you are well.

I purchased a rather unusual sarracenia hybrid from a local garden centre - based in the UK.

Can you please help with identification and whether or not I should fill the pitchers with water?

Cheers

It’s most likely a Flava x Purpurea from my experience.

You shouldn’t bother filling up the pitchers with water, sarrs don’t need it to be able to digest prey.

Yes, but being a taller hybrid it will most likely flop over. I would suggest looking in to meeting its lighting requirements.

It is most definitely a purp hybrid, however in the location shown of a net-covered window, you will not provide it with the correct growing conditions, leading to etiolation or possibly death. It really needs to be outside in full sun, standing in rainwater, especially in the UK. If it's been in the window for a while, or you have just purchased it from a garden centre, acclimate it to the full outside sun over a week or so. If bought from a specialist nursery it shoud be alright but judging by what I can see of the label it is one of the many unknown Dutch hybrids that can have many species in it, the wavy lid would suggest some leucophylla in it too.
As far as the water in the pitcher goes, here's a simple rule of thumb, if the lid points upward and exposes the tube of the pitcher (typically purpurea or its hybrids) then it will catch rainwater indicating it needs water to digest its prey. If the lid covers the pitcher (flava, leucophylla or the like) then the lid is to stop the entrance of water, so these plants will normally produce their own digestive fluid which doesn't need to be watered down.
So your plant probably needs, occasional, small amounts of water to aid digestion. But if its's outside, forget it, the rain will do it for you. Do not fill the pitchers, as has been said they will fall over and they don't need more that a 1/4 pitcher full. If it goes dry outside (or inside for that matter) don't worry, that's exactly what happens in the wild.
It looks like it will be a nice plant but won't make any colour in the growing position you have it in.

Good luck
Cheers
