It has been pretty hot lately and the flytraps are getting the full blast of heat. But do you think it's spider mites? If it is, I think I'll place an order from FTS for the Avid and Tetrasan Miticide.

I've only seen spider mite signs after they've had time to do a little damage, and they look like scratch marks on the trap. Yours looks like it's heat stress.

I don't think it's spider mites either. But if you have a reasonable magnifier you can check and know for sure. They're small but not invisible. (I use a cheap 40x loupe from Ebay and it's more than enough.)

Tiny brownish red or orange dots. They look spider-ish with a magnifying glass, but basically specks with the naked eye. They won’t be moving. Usually hanging out on the underside of the petioles near the traps.

Great, thanks for your responses! I looked at a few videos and they basically look like tiny black dots to the naked eye, but thankfully I can't find any. Looks like it's heat damage! But it's been hot and dry so my plants are more susceptible, I'll be placing an order from FTS hopefully soon, to keep some Avid and Tetrasan in storage just in case.

Is there any way to make a miticide at home? I've heard of a rubbing alcohol + dish soap solution on house plants.

If you're making an order to have a proven miticide on hand, don't worry about DIY stuff. They can easily do more harm than good quick, fast, and in a hurry.
Where you don't likely have mites, I wouldn't treat. Just monitor for real signs of mites vs what you think might be mites, but aren't.
