I mentioned this sand in another thread. Some leftover "play sand" from a project my wife did with some kids. I did a short vinegar test on it and got no foaming, no fizzing, no nada...but, it was a very short test. The sand itself *looks* like quartz/silica sand.

So, I'm seriously considering using it for my CPs. The size of the grit is smaller than I'd like it to be. According to what I've found regular swimming pool filter sand is 0.45-0.55mm. This sand is falling in there with the pool sand...some grains smaller, some larger. But, none in the 1.5-2.0mm size range. It seems that people are using pool filter sand, with it's small grit size, successfully. Anybody see any reason this shouldn't work?

Thanks for your feedback! OCD-Me! ;)
