So I was shining a uv365 light at stuff yesterday and found that some sphagnum heads glow a noticeable greenish yellow. I thought it might be just the dead or dried out bits but that wasn’t the case. Looking more carefully, other heads had a subtle blue or purple color.

Has anyone else observed this in their sphagnum cultures? I’m so curious about it!
The comments in the link mentioned that chlorophyll had a red glow but I didn’t see more red in the moss that appears more green in daylight. I also didn’t observe more fluorescence in new growth. It seemed like it might be a specific species. I have a mix of species and have not attempted to ID them.
Also discovered that spiderwebs glow white… And there are lots of white spots in my tank
