In the r/SavageGarden sub on Reddit, Trey Hale (a.k.a. Dirty Divisions) posted some pics from a bogging trip in Okaloosa County, northwest Florida. Check out this Sarracenia flava var. cuprea:

I have never seen a cuprea with dark-burgundy hoods. Trey refers to it as "var. atrocuprea"; I think it should be registered as a new variety.

Wow, that's quite the amazing specimen. Certainly doesn't look like a true Carolina cuprea, much more chunky. Possibly a product of Rugelii x true atro?

If this was spotted where I think it was, it's in a very well-managed bog in the Blackwater River State Forest :)
