P.grandiflora subsp grandiflora can grow in both acidic and calcareous environments
other subspecies or forms rather in acidic environments

note the different taxa ( see my web site)
Grandiflora subsp grandiflora (type)
subsp grandiflora f asturiensis(presence of white macules with streaks of purple accentuated on all tabs of the lobes and throat (tube) )
subsp grandiflora f chionopetra ( white)
subsp grandiflora f pallida ( from sky blue to light purple with a more accentuated color smear on the edges of the characteristic white throat designs )
subsp rosea(pink)
