Im new and I’m not sure if I’m taking care of my Venus fly trap correctly. I spray mist on it every 30 minutes and feed 1 tiny beetle to each head. But, one day when I woke up and went to check on Noodle (the name of my Venus fly trap) two of their heads were brownish and they wouldn’t open. Please, what do I do? :(

Venus Fly Traps typically don’t like to be too wet so misting it every 30 mins is probably too much. For watering you most likely want to put it in a water tray, and then you don’t have to water it again until the soil is only damp, not moist, and certainly not wet. For the feeding, you probably are feeding them too much. You only need to feed one trap every two weeks to four weeks.

Alright thanks. Is there any way I can save noodle? I don’t want it ending up with 2 leaves only.

Don't panic.
Read Matt's care and feeding guide here. https://www.flytrapcare.com/
Set up good conditions following the Big 4, Light, Water, Media, & Dormancy.
Then sit back and relax.
Misting them is not needed, feed one trap on the plant every few months.
My plants are happiest living in a condition of benign neglect.

Goods growing,
Mike

It will most likely be fine, just watch it carefully. It will be weak for a while because of the over feeding. You should probably wait for a second opinion before doing something, I am new-ish.

I see, I thought Venus fly traps needed to constantly be tended to. Turns out I was wrong!

There are a lot of common misconceptions about VFTs.

They are not tropical plants.
They come from a small region in North Carolina and South Carolina.

They do not need high humidity or misting or constant feeding.

They do not need to be grown in a terrarium.
They are happiest being grown in a pot, outside, under full sunlight.

They will not look pretty all year long.
VFTs are temperate plants, they need a Winter dormancy period for long term success.
When they're dormant, they look like @#$)(*&, they don't eat or grow new leaves.

They will not look like they're thriving when you bring them home.
Plants are like stubborn 3 year old kids.
They're used to things being a certain way.
Any changes in their lives trigger a sulk and a hissy fit.
It will take a month or so for your VFT to become accustomed to its new conditions.
Be patient, don't panic, don't over-react.

I live in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area, zone 5b.
My plants live outside from May until after the first frost.
Then they move into my basement for Winter, until next May.
I don't feed them all Winter.
I keep them under artificial lights synced to local sunrise and sunset.
I have VFTs that are 6 - 7 years old.

They are not hothouse Primadonnas, you just have to understand what they need and provide it.
My sundew isn’t eating!
