P. medusina, normal onion mode or slowly dying?

Hey gang,
Wanted to check something with this little P. medusina I got about a month ago from Curious Plant.
Little guy came in it's [ o n i o n m o d e ] when it arrived and I potted it in a mixture of
- Sand
- Perlite
- Vermiculite
- Pumice
- Peat
With peat being the least abundant in the mixture. I would've done just
- Gypsum
- Sand
- Perlite
If I didn't have to get a big bag of gypsum that I'd use for pretty much this one Ping.
When initially planting the medium was a bit moist in order to get the little dude potted well, but I haven't watered since given that I know P. medusina is one of the Pings that likes it bone dry when it's in it's non-carnivorous phase. It's in the cabinet with the reset of the Pings, which I'm thinking of moving them outside once I've moved to the new place and when it stops being consistently high 80s to 90 degrees Fahrenheit around here to help solidify the non-carnivorous phase.
Does this look like a normal non-carnivorous phase for this species, or due to the conditions in the cabinet not being cool that it's wanting to come out of [ o n i o n m o d e ] but it's too dry for it to do so?
