More pitchers!

I'm curious if the N. bicalcarata I've been growing for the past few years is a specific variety/ clone, or if it's just a random seedling or TC plant. Anyone have any ideas?

Thats a delightful bical! Mind sharing your low land set up? It looks redder than BE3029, so could be BE3031 or Sawarak red. Kinda depends on where you got it…

I got the bical from the Carnivorous Plant Nursery in Maryland. It wasn't labeled as anything; it was too small to sell regularly. Since I visited the place and probably wouldn't again for a while, they were willing to sell it to me.

I just keep all the lowland plants in a room that's consistently warmer than the rest of the house, probably 80+ degrees Fahrenheit most of the time. I keep the plants humid in a large clear plastic bin and regularly air it out and tend to the plants to hopefully prevent rot. It's not the best set up but it's worked so far, so until my stingy parents stop being annoying about buying better equipment it'll have to suffice.

Don’t you just love when this happens? The peristome was too small for the pitcher so the plant just decided it would make it fit lol

I have a beautiful nepenthes picture too. This one lives in the sun (well 2 hours of morning sun then, bright location but indirect sun). This one maybe is Nepenthes alata or ventricosa (the seller didn't remember :| ).

Yeah, they're nice. Took a while for the plant to grow them. Initially I thought I was scammed as the plants had no fangs. But I decided I didn't want to bother the nursery about it and eventually it worked out fine.

Love it when that happens! My lowii x vent pitchers are getting larger and so now when I notice the peristome is nice and shinny with nectar (idk if this is weird so don't judge me) I taste it lol. It is actually really sweet.

Yeah, I'm kind of tempted to taste the nectar too, but I just wonder about all this bugs that have been crawling around in the nectar. :?

Frankly, that pitcher is probably to small to get anything besides the occasional gnat or something. I don't taste the nectar anymore on that pitcher because there is a dead fly in there and the pitcher tipped over so all the dead fly juices got all over the peristome. yuk

Update: Here is my pitcher juvenile (maybe) who captured a wild insect.
