What kind of moss is this? It grew from my peat moss.

Could be juvenile sphagnum. Though there are a lot of other possible mosses. WAY too young to tell

K, I'll grow it until it gets bigger.

Looks like juvenile spag, it's a pretty slow grower.

Really? It just grew by itself. I leave them on my shelf, not much humidity there, and moderate light for 14 hrs. Also, the pots are almost always wet and trays full of water. This took about 2-3 months to grow.

I'm also using Vigoro peat moss in those pots.

Lol well the media staying wet is definitely a factor. Still, it sounds like it grows faster for you. There are tons of sphagnum types out there though, maybe yours is more accommodating

You should see the crazy-vigorous sphagnum moss in my neck of the woods. It forms big, loose, fluffy mounds. If you accidentally stepped on it, you'd sink in almost to your knee.

My school orderd some Sphagnum moss for me and it was not fully dried when it came so Im going to try to grow it.
