I got the bonus maxsea from the seed bank. It's 1/4 tsp, enough to make a gallon right? So, I received the slime, put it in 1/2 of a gallon of water, and now it's the color of pee (for reference). Is this the right colors???

Is it pee in the salad dressing bottle or is't diluted maxsea? The world will never know

Yup, 1/4 teaspoon of MaxSea in a gallon makes the water look yellow. A whole teaspoon makes it look dark brown.

I'm actually surprised you get that much color out of 1/4 tsp. Personally I use it about 6x as strong.

Probably because I only put it in 1/2 gallons of water.

I think I am going to have to get more Maxsea from the seed bank. And add it to the same water.
How could you do this to me chef! Joking...

Does it need to be so strong?

The recommended strength is 1/4 tsp per gallon in order to more easily avoid overuse. I know many people who have burned out their plants with too strong of a solution. With the recommended strength, you can fill up Sarracenia pitchers, Nepenthes pitchers, put a drop on every paddle of a sundew, every leaf of a Pinguicula, and foliar feed your Flytraps without much fear of burning them out unless they're seedlings.
Once you get more experience with it, like nimbulan, then you can increase the strength as you see fit. Your local environment may allow the plants to metabolize the nutrients faster, other environments may not promote as fast of usage, necessitating the weaker solution.
You don't need Maxsea for your plants, even in winter. But it is nice to give them a little boost in the springtime to get things moving.
