I ordered and just received some VFT seeds from Flytrapstore. While I was waiting for seeds, I ordered this light from amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B093R6NV ... asin_title).

I want to sow the seeds, but I am reading on this forum that a 6500k light is recommended -- not sure how I missed that last week when researching sowing seeds and the materials I would require (thought I had order correct light).

I live in Central Florida (zone 9/10), and hope to keep VFTs outdoors when ready.

Should I return 5000k light and look for a 6500k light, or will the 5000k light work? Am I over thinking this?

Thanks in advance for your patience and advice.

Probably overthinking it. I don't think the overall k rating matters that much, rather the actual spectrum it's composed of. I've used lights from 5000k (Spider Farmer) to 7700k (Yescom) and they've all worked fine. So if it was me, I wouldn't have any problem using that light.
