I feed them bugs regularly, that may be part of it. Every time an annoying fly comes buzzing into the house, every time I go out and tend to the garden…

Any time a new pitcher pops, I find it something to eat. If a plant hasn’t eaten in a while or has large pitchers, I feed it again.

What conditions do you grow it in temperature wise?

I don’t have any temperature monitors but based on feel it seems to constantly be in the 70-80F range, sometimes rising a little higher (90s?). It lives in a clear topped storage bin and gets morning sun. Periodically, I open the container to air it out and cool it down. I will have a fan wired up eventually, but my technology skills are abysmal so for now it’ll have to suffice.

It lives in a clear topped storage bin and gets morning sun. Periodically, I open the container to air it out and cool it down. I will have a fan wired up eventually, but my technology skills are abysmal so for now it’ll have to suffice.

I guess I won't be able to grow a Bical because it's usually in the 60's where I live.

Yeah, I don’t know any lowland Nepenthes that would appreciate that… you would need some sort of heating. In the 60s, you get weird deformed traps.

Oh yeah, if your humidity’s right, you could grow intermediate to highland easily.

My solution for humidity so far is just “clear plastic storage bin”. If you want to test some easier highland or intermediate plants out, you can begin there. I do hope to get a proper grow setup eventually.
