Has anyone heard of/have Dionaea m. "Amenhotep"? I really like it and I would love one, but I can't find them for sale anywhere so I have no idea how much they cost. Any pictures are really appriciated!

Anything that looks like that is probably very rare and very expensive. Did you see jaws smiley? JH had it for sale $350
So I can only imagine the plant you are looking at is in a similar price range :o

Amenhotep is a cultivar by Carnivoria. Matt has recently acquired a large amount of Carnivoria cultivars. They have a lot of very interesting ones. I have been hunting for several of these plants. They are not easy to come by at the moment because they are not in circulation here in the United States. There are a few places to acquire them over seas. But it requires you to have a certificate and permit to import plants (which can be costly including shipping cost) but I'm currently working on it. Matt has some in TC and you may see some of them starting to put up within the year. But don't be surprised if the prices are a little high as I said before there aren't many of these floating around the United States.

Ok, thank you! I'll definitely keep my eye out for it when it comes available! Hopefully it's not too expensive

Anytime! If you have instagram check out Caput Mundi Plants. They have many of the Carnivoria cultivars on their page and website. Very cool stuff indeed. A handful of them look like different alien type clones and a handful of them werewolf type clones.

Question, what is that green stuff on top of the media? It looks like sphagnum but the 'leaves' looks a lot finer than mine

I think that it's star moss or something like that, I have it in my sundew pots.

Nope, it's okay, if you don't like the look I guess you could rip them out, but I like them growing with my sundew and so does california carnivores.

Very risky to rip it out, i dont hate moss, but i top my pot with live sphagnum, i wonder who wins, sphag or star moss
