I mean... how can anyone top that in any field of endeavor - ever :)

With that in mind, I'm not really entering this
Fortunately, he's not in the contest. Thanks for sharing your picture.

I would have been terrified to do that. I never expected that they would not mind that.

Cephs are much more cold hardy than most think! Sarracenia Northwest lets them gets frosts and tons of snow. They can be grown without dormancy, but IMO don't grow as well in the summer. For me, if they get a winter rest they put on a huge growth spurt in the spring and summer.

I just re-read my entry re: the VFT Muppet animated GIF, and I think I came across like the Christmas Grinch.

Sorry folks.

I put it down to my kidney stone, and my flawed personality :)

Don't worry about it. I totally read it tongue-in-cheek. You are right that the animated flytrap is tough to top, but fortunately we are not competing against it. Those binata reindeer, on the other hand, are a force to be reckoned with. They are so darn cute.

I would guess that this is a symbiotic thing, like how bicals have ants living in them in the wild. Santa gets the chimney-like shapes that he needs in his habitat, and in return he delivers bugs to the pitcher. Nature is beautiful.

I was looking at my Bloody Nurse the other day and it reminded me of Xmas (except for the name!) with all of the red and green it was displaying. I decided to go ahead and enter it for all to enjoy. A little late to the game, but Merry Christmas all:

A hand painted ornament.

Note: I wrote hand painted due to the common description of N. Glabrata that the pitchers look hand painted.
