Hey everyone,

I've got a few questions:

Question #1
Is 45-55/60 degrees and natural daylight cycle in a south facing window enough for VFTs, temperate dews, and sarrs to go and stay dormant?

Question #2
I received a D. riparia from NightRaider and it hasn't really done much. It has a few leaves coming out from the growth point but they are all undeveloped and curled up. They have stayed like this for a while. Why is this happening?

Question #3
I have a D. venusta 'alba' and a D. admirabilis 'floating' that have had some weird things happening to them. The venusta's growth point seems a little messed up and all recent leaves are getting smaller. I just put the admirabilis under more intense light and now its leaves are getting smaller and smaller. Does anyone know why?

Thank you in advance!

We're all thinking it, you just said it. Bravo!
I tried Google, couldn't find these specific plants with those symptoms.

The stem, right below the new growth point.

Just a word of caution for using abbreviations. Unfortunately the letters C and P when placed together have becomes associated with some really bad stuff, so if you accidentally use them thinking you were meaning carnivorous plants, sites like Facebook and YouTube will flag them and possibly ban you.

But, CP has been used for many things through the years. You can google "what does CP mean?" and come up with very long lists of meanings for the acronym/abbreviation. It depends on the venue that you're speaking in in regards to it's interpretation. Here, in the flytrapcare forums, I believe it is correctly used as an acronym for what we're talking about..."carnivorous plants". On Facebook, YouTube, whatever, I can see how that venue might easily be slanted towards the dark side of things. I, personally, see no problem with using it here in the forums. I can appreciate Supercazzola's cautionary post, though.

Sundews69, I've been following your posts, but haven't a clue as to what to tell you other than that growth on the cape sure looks odd. :?:

Yeah, it's probably appropriate to have it on a carnivorous plant forum. It is probably just because I'm a kid, but I don't know what it means anyway. I googled it and I got mostly medical stuff.

I think Supercazzola's point was that the social media platforms will block any posts with that abbreviation.
