The color and tentacle length makes me think burmannii (I think it's burmannii with the longer tentacles. I know someone will confirm).

Definitely Burmannii. The red and snap tentacles give it away.

Those are all burmannii. D. sessilifolia isn’t in cultivation. Any nurseries or private growers that have plants labeled as sessilifolia have their plants mislabeled.

While I'm not questioning the ID (I can't tell sessilifolia and burmannii apart), how can you be certain there's no sessilifolia in cultivaton?
We've received a few donations of seeds labeled sessilifolia from a member in Brazil, smack in the middle of its native range. I think it would be measurably more of a process for them, and very confusing as to why they would get burmannii seeds from thousands of miles away, only to label them as sessilifolia. Especially when this member and his friends have sessilifolia almost literally in their backyards.
If you would like, shoot me your address and I'll send you some burmannii seeds and some of these sessilifolia seeds we have (I'll make sure they're from Brazil), grow them up, and compare them. I would do it, but my track record with seeds is poor, especially burmannii.

I didn’t mean that no one is growing sessilifolia at all. Im sure there are a few people out there that have it. I just meant that it is not really available to the general public. I don’t doubt they could be real sessilifolia if they are from someone that lives in Brazil. Are they from Sergio??? I would love to try some the seeds out.
Another point, D. sessilifolia looks different in nature compared to burmannii , yet any plant I’ve even seen labeled as sessilifolia looks just like burmannii. It has been reported that sessilifolia just grows differently in cultivation than it does in nature, but a friend of mine in Brazil has grown them from wild collected seeds and says they grow exactly the same as in nature. He says they don’t change form into something resembling burmannii.
There is also a supposed hybrid of burmannii x sessilifolia from Asia that has been going around for many years being sold under the label of sessilifolia. I’ll attach a picture of a comparison between that plant and burmannii. I’ll also add some pictures of sessilifolia in the wild from my friend in Brazil. You can see the somewhat upright growth habit unlike burmannii. You will also notice the petioles are much wider and less wedge shaped than burmannii.
So…. I’m not saying sessilifolia isn’t being grown somewhere in cultivation, I’m just saying given all the known details about it, that plant is definitely not sessilifolia.

I did come off a bit adversarial, my apologies.
The seeds labelled sessilifolia we have from Brazil are from Aquis31, not Sergio. We have some also labelled sessilifolia from a grower here in the US, I could send you all three to give you something to do over winter if you'd like.
Shoot me an address if you're down to test them out for us.

No, no. Nothing at all wrong with your response. 😁😁

Thank you I would love that. I’ve actually got around 20,000 spots that need to be filled with Drosera. I’m filling my 20’x16’ shop with grow racks full of Drosera so the more the merrier.

I'll send them out tomorrow.
Take care, and let us know if you can differentiate between them. You know that you might have to wait for flowers, but it might be nice to see what we have, or the variations on a theme

Woohoo! Thanks. Luckily with annuals like that I can usually get them to flower within 3 months by feeding them heavily.
I’ll definitely report back with results.

I know both of their identities, I was just verifing. The one by itself is one of the burmannii I grew from seed, Chef Dean gave me the seed to test germinate. Both of the types of plants are flowering currently, if yall want I can share pictures of the flowers.
