Hi there! I’m new to carnivorous plants and got a nepenthes a couple months ago. The nursery told me to plant it in peat moss, so I did. It was doing really well, living on my porch in central Texas, but we had a freak cold front (40s) and now it’s limp, the tips of some leaves are brown and all the pitchers are brown. I’m guessing it’s cold shock, but unsure if it could be a watering issue or light issue? I’d like to save it, but don’t know what’s wrong. Any advice would be appreciated!

I have left ventrata cuttings outside till the night of frost with no bad effects. I would look into media or water.

I'm just dipping my toes into the world of nepenthes but I agree with Optique, especially on the water. I learned pretty quickly that these guys are very sensitive to watering frequency and humidity in general. Like with most carnivorous plants, I can't imagine how they survive in the wild!
